How to read this page

How it’s measured. Dollars traded over the past five days against the average of the three months before, for S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100 stocks. The market reading covers the S&P 500 as it stood each day.

Sources. Daily prices from Financial Modeling Prep.

Dollar volume is shares traded times price, which keeps the comparison fair across stock splits. Index rebalancing days and options expiries lift volume across the board.

Heavy volume tells you something is happening, not which way it will resolve; check the price move beside it. In our research, money-flow measures follow price more than they lead it.
