Estimates are the average analyst forecast of next fiscal year’s earnings per share. When a company’s fiscal year rolls over, its change is left out until the new year has a month of history.
In our research the drift after earnings surprises is real but modest. Revisions describe what analysts think; they are not a forecast of the stock.
