Which stocks show persistent price growth and business growth?
A rising share price can be a lucky run, and a growing business can be ignored by the market. The stocks worth understanding first have both: a price that has beaten the market steadily for a year, and sales, margins and cash flow that are growing underneath it.

22 strong on all three
22 S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100 stocks rank in the top quarter on all three: a year of beating the market, a steady hold on that lead, and a growing business. 35 score 75 or more on P3, led by SNDK, LITE, MU. Information Technology has the most names in the top 60 (28).

How to read this page
How it’s measured. P3 multiplies three percentile scores from Stox, Perform (a year’s return against the market), Persist (how steadily the stock held its rank) and Profit (growth in sales, margins and cash flow), and takes the cube root to keep the result on a 0 to 100 scale. Because the scores multiply, a weak score on any one pulls the total down.
Sources. Daily prices and company financial statements from Financial Modeling Prep; scores from Stox.
Each part is ranked across the S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100, so a score of 80 means better than 80% of those stocks. The monthly history uses each part as it stood that month.
In our research, a portfolio of the top P3 names has beaten the S&P 500 over two decades, with deep drawdowns along the way. A score describes a stock; it is not a recommendation.
